EOS Programming

This is a look at the magic sheets I created for Dreamgirls programming. This was a huge learning experience for me, as I had very little knowledge of EOS Magic Sheets before this. There was a basic menu which was a “dummy” button that was a macro targeting each magic sheet. There was a quick bump button for house and works, as well as a live, blind, record, update, and clear command line button. Each page was for a different system of lights in the plot. This turned out to be super helpful throughout tech and dress, it also made it super easy for others to step in to help program throughout the show.

Spots or the ALD page, this allowed my assistant to see each spot’s current and pending cues as well as the main cue list. The other feature we added was the haze fader so they could adjust through out the show. We also ran spots off a seperate cue list for this show.

Movers (page 1) consisted of everything I needed for the Axcor Spot 300s. Focus, Color & Intensity Palettes, Gobos, Beam sizes, quick focus buttons to sharpen gobos, as well as hard color wheels.

Movers (page 2), consisted of everything I needed for the High End Lonestars. Focus, Color & Intensity Palettes, Gobos, Beam sizes, and quick focus buttons to sharpen gobos, as well as hard color wheels.

Pars, this page consisted of everything I needed for the ETC Colorsource Pars. I created groups for rows and included some color and intensity palettes. I also put some quick offset patterns.

Cyc, this page had some basic color palettes and effects for only the cyc. Overall super helpful when programming cyc effects.

Highside and Fronts, I created a similar style grouping system as the colorsource pars for quick selection. I also had intensity palettes to make things easier.

Texture, this page consisted of all the conventional textures for the show. You can see the same grouping style as the colorsource pars for the down texture.

Effects! This was a page I experimented with as I am still learning more about how I like to use effects. I put the systems of lights that I would use the most. Quick offset patterns as well as the basic EOS effects.

Control, I created a page for quick programming. All the green buttons are all related to cues, purple for selection, turquoise is macros, and teal is palettes. The Blackout/Blueout buttons are macros that “select active @ out, record cue next, label blackout.” It was the same for the FTB/FTb, just adding some timing into the cue.

The plot! This was the page I had the most fun creating. The lights all reflect the colors and intensity of the lights. As the designer this is what I probably looked at the most throughout tech.

The lock screen was something I added for fun, it was a pdf on a magic sheet that I put in limited expand mode, this allowed me to lock out any button presses while still allowing fader control for house and work light.
